Winter Youth Coaching Programme
For the first time, the club has decided to implement a full winter coaching programme for its young cricketers. The sessions commenced on Sunday 21st October and will continue fortnightly throughout the winter at the Downs School in Wraxall from 6.00pm to 8.00pm.

The aim is give our youth players quality practice at a time when they would not normally be playing any cricket and provide structured coaching to develop key aspects of their game. So far, we have seen Robbie Hoffeldt working on front foot batting techniques and Steve Dent working with some of our young bowlers to improve actions and increase accuracy and speed. With Ian Morrell, Chris Cole, John Hance, and John Parsons also assisting with the sessions, our young players have every opportunity to improve over the coming months.

The club is committed to providing high quality coaching to its youth players and to this end several young players and age group assistants will be doing the ECB Level 1 qualification this winter. This will provide additional coaching support to Ian Morrell (ECB Level 1) and John Hance (currently undergoing ECB Level 2).

For more information on these sessions, contact Ian Morrell on 01275 464175.

Under 17 Team - 2008 season
With a clear aim on continuing the development of the club's successful youth section, the committee have decided to form an Under 17 side for the 2008 season to play in the North Somerset Youth League. This will ensure that our young players can continue to play youth cricket beyond the U15 age group and hopefully stop the drain of our young cricketers to other local clubs.
